The Wildcats and Utes will open the 2021 and 2023 football seasons against each other, the schools announced Thursday.
The games are scheduled for Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City for Sept. 2, 2021, and Aug. 31, 2023.
Utah leads the all-time series 4-0. The teams last played in 2013, a game the Utes won 70-7 against a WSU team that finished 2-10.
The two teams open the 2018 season in Salt Lake City with a game Thursday, Aug. 30.
Weber State’s last game against a Pac-12 opponent was a 2017 matchup at Cal, which it led 20-17 through three quarters before falling 33-20.
The future games are the first scheduled for Weber State in 2021 and 2023. Utah joins San Diego State, Nevada and Wyoming as future FBS opponents for the Wildcats.
In addition to the three scheduled games against Weber State, Utah also has Idaho State, Montana State and Southern Utah as future FCS opponents. The Utes are currently scheduled to play a Big Sky team every year through 2024.
Utah also announced a home-and-home series with Houston that’s even further into the future. Houston will host the Utes in 2026 and the Cougars will travel to Utah in 2027.
Utah is 0-4 all-time against Houston but has not played the Cougars since 1978.
